ROK SZKOLNY 2008/2009
OUR TRIP TO HUNGARY
 |
On the days of the 29th of September and 5th of October 2008 a group of twelve students from the school classes: 4tk/kl, 3tk/kl, 3tk, 3tż and 2ax, in our Headmaster's care, Mrs
Jolanta Wikło, and teachers - Mrs Anita Chilińska - the German language teacher, together with Mrs Małgorzata Konstanty - the teacher of Catering Industry with Customer Service, the third time paid, based on partnership, visit to the school in Szolnok, Hungary. |
 |
The aim of the visit was to continue, already begun in 2000, the fruitful cooperation between the schools in Poland and Hungary. The visit programme was to get to know their school, its history, students, teachers and the functioning rules.
Our schools were broadening their knowledge and professional skills through practices in different catering industry companies in Szolnok. They were working as chefs and waiters in prestigious and interesting restaurants (Dreher, Bajnok) and hotels (Hozam, Tisza).
Moreover, they had an occasion to know the hungarian cuisine diversity, its history, dishes and drinks' taste, and finally ways how to prepare and serve them. The school youth visited many interesting monuments and historical places of Szolnok.
Our school delegation was warmly welcomed and received by the Town Authorities and had an opportunity both to visit the Town Hall, see the Town Council Conference Room and talk to the Mayor. The big attraction of our visit in Hungary were trips to the capital of the country and the university city, Debreczyn. Everyone was enchanted by its monumental architecture, landscape and cultural variety. From the Towered from the hills, Buda, (The Gerard's Mountain) and the fishing keep, we were admiring the City Panorama with the Parliament and beautiful bridges, including Saint Margaret bridge, crossing the Danube river , the European Rivers' Queen . We also visited the Heroes Square, the Royal Castle, Saint Stefan Basilica - with its relics and were walking along the main street - Vaci.
Our students were visitors of luxurious Hilton Hotel, where they could see its equipment and everything regarding functioning.
In Debreczyn everybody was taking the waters with a beneficial effect and admiring historical Town Schools - the University, National Museum, Great Calvinist Church and many beautiful parks surrounding the city.
The Hungarian hosts were very hospitable, warm, friendly and showed a lot of interest towards our school youth. The students, together with hungarian ones, were participating in many shows, for example, how to prepare drinks, dishes and consumer service. They were also guests of plastic arts and hairdresser schools, where they were watching hair style lessons and plastic workshops.
The time spent in Szolnok, in the school based on partnership, was passing quickly and attractively, leaving unforgettable memories and worth remembering professional experiences. Undoubtedly, it was also a good time to broaden and exercise our linguistic skills.
